Connect your Google account

Google doesn't let other apps sign in with your normal password, so you'll create a one-off app password just for this migration. It takes about a minute.

Create the app password

1. Go to myaccount.google.com/apppasswords
2. If prompted, turn on 2-Step Verification first — Google only offers app passwords once it's enabled.
3. Give it any name (for example Mail migration) and select Create.
4. Google shows a 16-character password in four blocks. Copy it.

Your old mail is only ever read — nothing in your Google account is changed or deleted. The app password is used only for this copy, is stored encrypted, and is erased when the migration finishes. You can revoke it at any time on the same Google page.
